From the Provider

“I really believe in making sure people understand all their options and the evidence behind them so they can decide what’s best for them. I am here to support their choice.”

About the Provider

Katie’s path to nursing and eventually nurse-midwifery was not something she planned from an early age. Influenced by teacher parents and a nurse in her family, nurse-midwifery—with its emphasis on teaching and advocacy—seemed to combine the qualities she admired most. As a nurse, her experience in obstetrics and gynecology cultivated a desire to play a more central role in patient care and she returned to school for her master’s degree in nurse-midwifery.

Today, Katie’s passion is education and shared decision-making. She enjoys finding ways to help people understand their options whatever their background or current knowledge. She understands that each person has different values, beliefs and goals and strives to develop care plans in partnership with her patients that meet their needs without judgement. In addition to patient-centered obstetric care, Katie really enjoys teaching people about birth control and working with teens and people who identify as LGBTQ+. She recognizes how important someone’s first visit with a gynecology provider can be in setting the stage for a lifetime of positive and proactive health management and strives to be someone her patients can trust.

Katie is a married pet parent who enjoys gardening, running, traveling and generally being active.
