From the Provider

“One of the things I love most about obstetrics and gynecology is the diversity of situations and challenges I am able to help people through. I want each person to feel safe in my care and know that their concerns are heard—and I am taking those concerns as seriously as they are.”

About the Provider

Dr. Cook’s path to becoming a physician began as an emergency medical technician after college. With a thirst for more knowledge, challenge and responsibility, he enrolled in medical school two years later and eventually chose OB/GYN for the variety it offered—being able to help people through medical challenges, manage their reproductive health and welcome new life.

Dr. Cook helps his patients with gynecologic issues, including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS); heavy, irregular or painful menstrual bleeding; menopausal symptom management; and management of abnormal Pap test results. He is a skilled surgeon using hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, advanced robotic, vaginal and traditional (open) techniques. One of the things he looks most forward to is seeing people after they have worked together to address an impactful issue and are at the point where they don’t even think about it anymore. Dr. Cook also helps people address infertility and enjoys caring for both routine and more complicated pregnancies, as well as a special interested in the treatment of PCOS. He welcomes gender diverse patients, providing wellness care, gynecology, obstetrics and some types of gender affirming surgery, including completion hysterectomy with oophorectomy.

Dr. Cook was born in Santa Monica, California, but feels most at home in the dense forests of the Pacific Northwest, where he has resided since 1989. He is a married parent of three and takes every opportunity available to instill his love of nature in his children. He also loves live theater, cross country skiing, cooking, yoga, travel and political advocacy—and looks forward to returning to volunteerism, which he began in the Seattle area as part of the King County Health Reserve Corps serving the medical needs of unhoused people.

I appreciate the great communication from the receptionist about the wait time and keeping me informed. Dr. Cook and his staff made me feel safe and took their time answering all my questions and addressing my concerns during my appointment. I’m grateful Dr. Cook spoke in terms I can understand and was patient when asking to explain further.

Dr. Cook is one of the better OB physicians I have ever had. He's to the point, doesn't sugar coat it but has great bed side manner. He explains things in ways I understand. And his medical team is awesome!
