From the Provider

“During my pregnancies and home births, I felt informed and empowered to make choices based on what was right for me and my babies. This is the model I follow in my midwifery practice to this day. Wherever a woman is planning to give birth, my goal is to be a bridge between the natural and normal aspects of pregnancy and the medical complications that can sometimes arise, making sure each person understands her options and can make an informed decision.”

About the Provider

With a background in infant and pediatric critical care nursing, Jamie’s interest in midwifery began with her own experience birthing two children at home under the care of a midwife. Since completing her graduate program in nurse-midwifery, she has supported women and families in home, birth center and hospital settings and believes birth is beautiful no matter where it takes place.

Jamie loves connecting with women on an individual level to provide the information they need to make empowered decisions about their health. She brings this same emphasis on the individual to her midwifery practice, helping each woman envision and realize their own definition of a healthy pregnancy and fulfilling childbirth experience. Jamie’s interests also include postpartum recovery and support, particularly lactation and nutrition.

When she isn’t at work, Jamie loves hiking, skiing and kayaking and spending time at home with her family gardening and cooking. She has two boys with whom she loves to get out and experience nature in and around the city. Jamie has also been active in maternal and child healthcare policy, serving on a senate bill committee to develop a policy for newborn congenital heart disease screening prior to hospital or birth center discharge.
